The Princess of Wales has easily topped the latest survey to
find the most popular royal, taking over from her husband who is a
regular in first spot in these polls.
However, one group still has the heir to the throne as their
number one. Baby Boomers can’t get enough of William with 79%
having a favourable opinion of him.
Overall, it’s Kate leading the royal way in the newest check on
popularity. The findings from YouGov found that
68% of all adults had a positive impression of The Princess of
Wales. Prince William was second on 62% while third place went to
Princess Anne on 59%.
Millennials had Kate in number one place with 65% holding a
favourable opinion of her, followed by William on 60%. King Charles
III was third with this group with a positive rating of 58%.
When Gen X were asked, it was again a vote of confidence for the
Princess of Wales who was number one on this royal list with 67%
positive rating, followed by the Princess Royal on 64% and the
Prince of Wales on 62%.
Baby Boomers broke the mould, giving the biggest seal of
approval to the Prince of Wales. William had a favourability rating
of 79% with those born between 1946 and 1964. Princess Anne was in
second place on 78% while third in this list went to the Duchess of
Edinburgh on 76%.

lower approval ratings across the board for all members of the
House of Windsor.
The results were part of YouGov Ratings which measures the
popularity of ”anything and everything” and uses millions of
responses to produce its rankings. The survey gathers opinions
every day and collates them once a quarter. The latest results are
for the third quarter of 2025, from July to September.
The same system is also gathering information on the most
popular public figures in general and there’s a royal on top of
that list, too. The latest collated figures show that Queen
Elizabeth II is the most popular public figure in the UK, with 75%
viewing her favourably. The Princess of Wales is second, on 68%,
while Barack Obama is third on 66%. Prince William is fifth, just
behind Vlodomyr Zelenskyy while King Charles is eighth, following
Michelle Obama and Princess Anne.
