Wishy Wishy Wishy, can’t you see. Sometimes your tunes just hypnotize me. And I just love your catchy ways. Guess this why they’re broke and you’re getting so much love from what remains of the independent music blogosphere.
I lost the thread there at the end, yes? Wishy would never. The jangly, fuzzy, earnestly yearning Indianapolis Band To Watch wowed us with their Paradise EP in 2023, their debut album Triple Seven in 2024, and their Planet Popstar EP in 2025. Now they’re ready to roll out LP2.
Nature’s Pill won’t be out until almost four months from now, but at least we get to hear lead single “Lovesick” right this second. Like so many Wishy songs, it soars into your eardrums like the most beautiful, aerodynamic cloud of sparkling beauty. (I love flowery hyperbole almost as much as I love hack parodies. But not as much as I love Wishy.)
Nina Pitchkites is on lead vocals here, and she offered this statement:
There’s not much more that needs to be said about yearning in 2026, but here it is anyway. Kevin and I are stupidly romantic people who like twee pop so that combination alone was a recipe for a cheeky “main character” song. We really leaned into the overzealous lyrics here because 1) we’re allowed, 2) can do whatever we want and 3) it’s fun 🙂 yay!
It really is fun. Watch Trent Wayne’s “Lovesick” video below.
