The cozy celebration had a tarot card reader, live pianist, and a lively second-line street parade that saw the newlyweds and guests dancing through the streets behind a brass band.
The couple, who started dating in 2020, wanted the day to feel like an adventure. They wanted their friends and family to feel like they were on vacation with them, exploring, enjoying great food, and celebrating love.
The theme of their wedding comprised elegant, spooky, and fun, or as Grimes called it, “a little moody, a little funky but classy.” Powell added that the venue had “Haunted Mansion feel,” which sealed the deal for him. (via People)
Camryn looked breathtaking in a custom two-piece gown by KYHA, which she found during her very first bridal appointment in Santa Monica.
To pay tribute to their shared Scottish and Irish roots, the couple included a Celtic handfasting ceremony, where their hands were tied together to symbolize unity, the original meaning behind “tying the knot.”
They also exchanged heartfelt handwritten vows. After the ceremony, the guests took to the streets behind a live brass band, waving handkerchiefs.
The reception included freshly made beignets from the Beignet Box, a delicious buffet spread, and a first dance to Stevie Nicks’ “Crystal.”
