Sharon Osbourne is sharing love and gratitude for people who have expressed their condolences in the wake of the death of her husband, rock star Ozzy Osbourne.
The former host of The Talk, 72, took to Instagram on Friday to share a video of herself with daughter Kelly Osbourne, 40, hanging out in a field with a pair of owls. The video, set to Ozzy’s song “Mama I’m Coming Home,” is her first post on Instagram since the Black Sabbath singer’s July 22 death at age 76.
“I’m still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown on social media,” Sharon began her caption. “Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know. None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights.”
Though she is still finding her footing in the wake of Ozzy’s passing, she wrote that she “wanted to share some glorious creatures I had the chance to spend an afternoon with.”
“The connection you make with these powerful birds is built entirely on trust and confidence. They’ll choose to perch on you only if they sense you are safe and unafraid of them. It’s a bond I know all too well, and the experience was nothing short of magical,” she continued.
She concluded the post with, “I love you all, and I thank you deeply for the otherworldly amount of love you continue to send my way.”
Sharon’s followers expressed their support for the former reality star in the comments. “We love you Sharon! You are not alone in this,” one follower commented. “As painful as it is, he brought nothing but joy and happiness and that is what we need to celebrate moving forward! Much love to your family. We love you all!!!” Another added, “I love this so much. I’m so glad Kelly is able to share a new passion with you to help you both heal.”
Ozzy, whom Sharon married in 1982 and also shares children Aimee, 42, and Jack, 39, lived with Parkinson’s disease before his death. In July, weeks before his passing, he played one last show, dubbed his “final bow,” at the United Kingdom’s Villa Park.
Prior to Ozzy’s death, Sharon told Billboard the event was her idea, “because [Ozzy’s] one regret was he didn’t get the chance to say thank you to his fans before he finished his world tour.”
“We were in the middle of his [2018 No More Tours 2] world tour, his retirement tour; we’d only done about nine months of the tour and he got sick,” she said at the time.
