We visited the iconic Chateau Marmont, built in 1929 and famous as the secret hideaway of countless Hollywood stars. Greta Garbo, James Dean, Elizabeth Taylor, Led Zeppelin, Jim Morrison, Lady Gaga, and Keanu Reeves — all spent time here. It’s a hotel full of legends, secrets, and scandals.
Our experience? Service was excellent, and the breakfast was really good. But the atmosphere was unexpected: hidden, gloomy, even a little haunted, with a cute but modest garden patio. It wasn’t a letdown — but it was definitely far from the glamorous image we had in mind. Still, we’re happy we experienced this legendary place!

Navštívili jsme ikonický Chateau Marmont, postavený v roce 1929 a proslulý jako tajné útočiště mnoha hollywoodských hvězd. Greta Garbo, James Dean, Elizabeth Taylor, Led Zeppelin, Jim Morrison, Lady Gaga nebo Keanu Reeves — všichni zde pobývali. Je to hotel plný legend, tajemství a skandálů.
Naše zkušenost? Servis byl vynikající a snídaně opravdu dobrá. Ale atmosféra byla nečekaná: skrytý, ponurý, trochu strašidelný, se zahradním patiem, které je roztomilé, ale nenápadné. Nebyl to propadák — ale rozhodně to bylo na hony vzdálené hollywoodské představě, kterou jsme měli. Přesto jsme rádi, že jsme tohle legendární místo zažili!
