The British royal family has some very unusual eating habits. According to their former personal chef, Darren McGrady, in the first months after her wedding, Princess Diana ate very little and asked for only low-fat versions of every dish. All because Prince Charles once carelessly remarked that she “had no waist.” Prince Philip, on the other hand, loved going down to the kitchen himself and eating the same food prepared for the palace staff. Queen Elizabeth was known for always being late to family dinners — so much so that the rest of the family started telling her a different dinner time just to make sure she’d arrive on time. In addition, a special menu was prepared for each member of the royal family, allowing them to pre-order their favorite meals — sometimes several days in advance.
