The Time Bandits and young Kevin have landed in 1324, in the fabulously wealthy Mali Empire of West Africa! 🌍 They’ve already met the legendary Mansa Musa, the richest man in history, and have now traveled with him to Cairo for a high-stakes diplomatic meeting with the Sultan of Egypt. 🏛️
But this meeting of two of the world’s most powerful rulers hits an immediate and incredibly awkward snag. Pride, power, and protocol collide! 💥 When it comes time for introductions, the Sultan’s vizier demands that Mansa Musa, as the visitor, must cross the great hall and kneel in submission.
Mansa Musa is not having it. He declares that he is a “Mansa” (King of Kings), and that the Sultan should be the one to bow first! 👑 The Sultan, in his own palace, flatly refuses, demanding the respect he is due. The two most powerful men on the continent are now locked in a silent, stubborn, and super-tense standoff over who has to bend the knee.
