Celebrity baby names can be endlessly fascinating, ranging from unusual choices like Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s Blue Ivy, to timeless classics such as George and Amal Clooney’s twins Alexander and Ella, to deeply personal tributes like Bindi Irwin honoring her father, the late “Crocodile Hunter,” in Grace Warrior.

Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps and wife Nicole Phelps curated a meaningful set of names for their four sons. Raddix and Cardinal

Actress Cameron Diaz and her husband, musician Benji Madden, welcomed a son named Cardinal in March 2024. Cardinal joined big sister, Raddix, to form their family of four.

Luca, Banks, Mae and Townes

Hilary Duff’s fourth child joined the Duff-Bair-Comrie Crew in May 2024, following siblings Luca, Banks and Mae. Like Banks, Townes exudes strong energy for a girl, a popular naming trend at the moment.

Parker and Piper

“Property Brothers” star Drew Scott and his wife, Linda Phan, named their second child Piper Rae, which pairs perfectly with older brother Parker.

Bluesy Belle and Brother

RZA, Riot and Rocki Irish

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have continued their creative “R” naming tradition with their children. Their second son, Riot, born in 2023, joins older brother RZA, reflecting the couple’s flair for bold, one-syllable names. Rihanna’s full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, while A$AP Rocky’s given name is Rakim Athelaston Mayers, making the shared initial a playful family motif. 

The trend continued with their daughter, Rocki Irish, whose spirited named complements her brothers’ monikers. “It’s always going to be an R name,” Rihanna told Entertainment Tonight in June 2025. “That’s the one thing me and Rocky don’t fight over.”

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas welcomed daughter Malti Marie in 2022. Her name is a combination of the middle names of both of her grandmothers.

Jack, Lyla, Eloise and Ford

Chris Pratt and ex-wife Anna Faris named their son Jack in 2012. Pratt is now married to Katherine Schwarzenegger and they share daughters Lyla, born in 2020, Eloise, born in 2022 and son Ford, born in 2024.

Egypt and Genesis

Singer Alicia Keys and producer Swizz Beatz have two sons. Egypt was born in 2010 and Genesis in 2014.

Mingus and Nova Tennessee

“The Walking Dead” star Norman Reedus and actress Diane Kruger welcomed a daughter in 2018, but didn’t openly share her name until 2022. “I had her late in life at 42, and (Norman) had a child when he was much younger,” Kruger told People. “‘Nova’ in Latin means new beginning, and a nova star keeps changing and is reborn. Actor Sofia Vergara and her former husband, Joe Gonzalez, share a son named Manolo, who was born in 1991.

Comedian Amy Schumer and chef Chris Fischer are parents to a little boy named Gene, who was born in 2019. The couple originally named their son Gene Attell after Schumer’s friend, comic Dave Attell. However, they changed the middle name to David after realizing their son’s full name sounded like “genital.”

Tom Brady and ex-wife Gisele Bündchen share son Benjamin, who was born in 2009, and daughter Vivian, born in 2012.

Lea de Seine

Actor Bradley Cooper and his former partner, model Irina Shayk, welcomed daughter Lea de Seine in 2017. The mom told Harper’s Bazaar that her daughter is named after her own grandmother, Galina. “The second part is the Seine, like the river in Paris,” added Shayk.

Emme and Max

Singers Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony (now divorced) have twins named Emme and Max, who were born in 2008. Their mom gave them the sweetest nickname: her coconuts.

Grace Warrior

Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late TV legend and animal expert Steve Irwin, named her daughter Grace Warrior in 2021. “Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad and his legacy as the most incredible Wildlife Warrior,” Bindi wrote on Instagram.

Moroccan and Monroe

Former couple Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon share twins Moroccan and Monroe, born in 2011. Cannon once explained the inspiration behind the children’s monikers: Carey loves late actress Marilyn Monroe and Cannon proposed to the singer in a Morocco-inspired room in their former home.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z named their daughter Blue in 2010. They later welcomed brother-sister twins Rumi and Sir in 2017.

The meaning of their first born’s name is a bit mysterious to the public, but the rapper explained on the Rap Radar podcast that Rumi was named after a 13th century poet.
