There’s no doubt that the 80s were an iconic decade, and the celebrities from the 1980s were a big part of what made that era so unforgettable. The music, the movies, the fashion, and the stars from that time still feel frozen in history, and new generations continue to discover and fall in love with them every year. From teen movie stars to pop icons, these celebrities from the 1980s seemed destined to dominate Hollywood and the music industry for decades.

But sometimes we forget to stop and ask what actually happened to the stars we thought would be the future. Whether it was due to illness, personal or legal problems, or simply changing public taste, some of these stars lost their chance to keep shining in their industries and fell off harder than any of us expected. Check out this list to see if you remember all of them.

She was basically the face of teen movies at the time, but her career slowed down in the 1990s when she moved to smaller films and theater. She still acts today, but she never reached the same level of fame she had in the 80s.
