Casanda Carson of Paralandra revealed some exciting career updates last week that involve 1990s rocker Josh Rand.
During her interview with Robert Edwards of Talkin’ Bout Rock on Jan. 10, the musician spoke about the process of her band’s new EP and a new project she is working on with voice actress Kari Wahlgren and a tribute album she’s a part of, titled SlaughtHER. Carson also revealed in the podcast an exciting update on The L.I.F.E Project, a collaborative project with the Stone Sour guitarist.
“We’ve got an album that it looks like we’re gonna be releasing early, mid-2026,” Carson revealed. “It was originally supposed to be two EPs released [last] year, and labels, and one thing led to another, we’re doing it a little different than we originally planned. But I guess all that being said, more music from The L.I.F.E. Project is coming out very, very soon.”
When Stone Sour started their hiatus in 2020, Rand teamed up with Carson to form the duo. They released their debut single “The Nothingness” in April 2021, and have released multiple singles and EPs since. The last time The L.I.F.E Project released a new song was in September 2022.
“We’ve recorded them, we’ve demoed them time and time, over and over again, and these last mixes that we’ve been doing absolutely crush,” Carson said last January in an interview with Different Stages Radio, according to Blabbermouth. “I am so glad that we waited and really spent the time to let the songs become what they needed to become and kept refining and doing these tiny little tweaks here and there that really make the world of a difference.”
Carson started her rock band Paralandra in 2013 alongside her father, Paul, in Springfield, Missouri, and is now joined by Sawyer Rikard and Dakota Watson. The group released their debut EP, All Fall Down, in 2016, and have released many singles, EPs and two studio albums since. Paralandra released their latest project, Hallomas, in November 2025.
Meanwhile, Rand joined Stone Sour in 1993 as their rhythm guitarist, but left after a year. He eventually came back in 2000 and is the second-longest-serving member of Stone Sour after Corey Taylor. In addition to The L.I.F.E Project, Rand teamed up with Canadian singer-songwriter Lindsay Robins to make the hard rock band Moonshot.
As of now, there are no other details, such as tracklist, title, or release date, for The L.I.F.E Project’s upcoming album. Fans can listen to their whole discography on streaming platforms.
