EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Just days before the popular Huntington Beach airshow, the event announced that U.S. military planes are unable to fly in the 2025 Pacific Airshow due to the ongoing government shutdown.
“While this is certainly disappointing news, we are excited to share that Pacific Airshow Huntington Beach will continue as scheduled this Friday through Sunday with an outstanding lineup of world-class domestic and international performances,” Kevin Elliot, CEO and director of the airshow, said in a social media post on Wednesday.
The news of the removal of the military aircraft means that one of the biggest draws to the show on the water — the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds — will not make an appearance, along with the F-22 Raptor, F-35C Lightning II and A-10 Thunderbolt demonstrations.
Despite being without some of the fan-favorites of the show, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, Royal Air Force Falcons, Red Bull stunt planes, the World War II-era B-29 plane and more will still perform.
Event organizers said the performance will go on as scheduled from Friday, Oct. 3 to Sunday, Oct. 5.
Gates will open each day of the event at 9 a.m., and the show will run from 10:00 a.m. to roughly 4:30 p.m.
