2026 American Music Awards: How to watch, AMAs start time, TV channel, and more

The 52nd American Music Awards are this Monday, May 25 (AKA Memorial Day). Taylor Swift leads the pack of nominees with eight nods, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. Sabrina Carpenter, Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, and SOMBR are all close behind with seven nominations each. This year’s show will include performances from KATSEYE, SOMBR, Teddy Swims, Twenty One Pilots, and more. BTS will be making a special appearance. This year’s AMAs have added new categories, including Song of the Summer, Breakout Tour, Best Vocal Performance, Breakthrough Artist awards across genres, and Best Americana/Folk Artist. Queen Latifah will host this year’s awards show.

The 2026 AMAs begin at 8 p.m. ET, airing on CBS and streaming live on Paramount+ for Premium subscribers. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the awards, including the full AMA nominations list and where to stream the show for free.

When are the 2026 AMAs? 

This year’s American Music Awards will be held on Monday, May 25, 2026 (Memorial Day).

What time are the AMAs on? 

The awards will start at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

AMAs 2026 TV channel: 

The 2026 AMAs will air on CBS and stream live on Paramount+ (for Premium subscribers. Ad-supported subscribers will be able to watch the awards on demand the following day).

How to watch the 2026 AMAs: 

Who is hosting the 2026 AMAs? 

Queen Latifah will host this year’s American Music Awards.

2026 AMA performers: 

Hootie & the Blowfish, KATSEYE, Keith Urban, Maluma, Riley Green, SOMBR, Teddy Swims, and Twenty One Pilots will perform at the 2026 AMAs.

BTS is also slated to make a “special appearance,” but it is unclear if the K-pop group will perform.

2026 American Music Awards fan voting: 

Voting has closed for all AMA categories other than Social Song of the Year and Tour of the Year, which will remain open through the first 30 minutes of the AMAs broadcast.
