Downtown Clearwater is getting a major shakeup with the announcement of a new $50 million family entertainment hub.
The company EVO Entertainment is building an 83,000 square-foot entertainment center located in the area of Cleveland Street and Myrtle Avenue, offering various forms of activities such as movies, laser tag and bowling.
“The Clearwater location represents EVO Entertainment’s flagship multiplex and a significant expansion of its destination-based entertainment model, which integrates cinema, dining and interactive attractions into a single environment,” the Cleveland Street Alliance said in a news release.
The new center will feature a seven-screen multiplex featuring the largest cinema screen in the world, spanning more than 130 feet in width.
The auditorium will be paired with Dolby Vision projection and Dolby Atmos sound, offering an immersive movie-going experience at a “scale not previously seen in the market.”
The center will be the first in the world to have every auditorium featuring Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
If sitting through a motion picture isn’t your speed, EVO Entertainment’s new hub includes bowling, arcade gaming, laser tag, dining and interactive entertainment.
“We are thrilled to bring EVO Entertainment to Clearwater and be part of this once-in-a-lifetime transformation taking shape in downtown Clearwater,” Mitch Roberts, Founder & CEO of Elevate Entertainment Group said in a statement. “From a cinema worthy of the global stage to a world-class family entertainment center, EVO Entertainment Clearwater will set a new standard for out-of-home entertainment—serving as a social destination for millions of guests across the region.”
An opening date for the EVO Entertainment Center is set to be released at a later time.
