Lead in the water

Tea smells of sewage and rashes spread in “cullud wattah,” a play by Erika Dickerson-Despenza set amidst the 2016 water crisis in Flint, Michigan. The playwright is a graduate of UW-Madison’s First Wave program, and when “cullud wattah” first ran off-Broadway in 2021 one critic called it “a call to account.” University Theatre’s production runs in the Mitchell Theatre in Vilas Hall, 821 University Ave. Tickets cost $15-$28.

Tickets for the event at 85 E. Towne Way cost $50.
