Just more than a year after she first announced her “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour,” pop icon Cyndi Lauper played the final show on her schedule on Saturday.
And if that was the final show she plays, well … she was joined onstage by some big names. According to reports, Lauper had guests such as Joni Mitchell, Cher, SZA and John Legend all took the stage next to Lauper during the show at the Hollywood Bowl.
According to Ultimate Classic Rock, Lauper was given a large bouquet of flowers that she tried to give to Cher. The two are friends, and Cher “firmly shoved” them back to Lauper and yelled, “you’re the (expletive) queen!”
The 72-year-old said last year that she was going out on her farewell tour at the time because “right now is the best I can be.”
“I just want to thank everybody, say goodbye, celebrate with fans that have been so loyal and sweet and were there for every crazy-ass concert or thing that I did and I’m excited about doing it,” she said back then. “I don’t think physically in another five years I will be as good, but now I can do it, you know?”
