Sammy Kershaw, whose music was a staple of the country genre in the 1990s, will bring his repertoire of hits to New England’s oldest fair next month.
The celebrated artist will play on the Grandstand stage at the Topsfield Fair on Thursday, Oct. 9. Kershaw’s concert is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and is free with paid fair admission.
“We always get requests from attendees for great country artists to perform at the Fair, and I certainly think they will be very happy to see Sammy Kershaw perform live,” General Manager James O’Brien said in a press release.
Tickets for the Topsfield Fair, which runs from Oct. 3-13, start at $20 each every day. Discounted tickets can be purchased for $15 — plus a $3 fee — on the fair’s website through Oct. 2. These tickets are good to use during any day of the fair’s 11-day run. Additionally, a three-day pass — good any three days of the fair — is available for $42 plus a $3 fee. Children 8 years old or younger get in for free with an adult.
Kershaw, a Grammy-nominated performer, has achieved three platinum and six gold albums — selling nearly 100 million songs in the process, the artist’s website states.
His multi-platinum albums were supplemented by hits such as the chart-topping “She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful” and the top 10 singles “Queen of My Doublewide Trailer,” “I Can’t Reach Her Anymore,” “National Working Woman’s Holiday,” “Love Of My Life,” “Cadillac Style,” “Don’t Go Near The Water,” “Haunted Heart” and “Vidalia.”
Overall, Kershaw has earned more than 25 top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
