The hit Asbury Park oceanfront festival, which will take place Sept. 13 and 14, is holding a “Kickoff on Cookman” event from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, on Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park between Bond Street and Bangs Avenue. The Bumpin Uglies, Brick + Mortar, Kufknotz and the Lakehouse Music Academy Band will perform in the free event, presented by Netflix.

The Bumpin Uglies, a reggae groove group from Maryland, play the main fest on Saturday, Sept. 13. The headliners for the fest are Hozier on Saturday, Sept. 13, and Blink-182 on Sunday, Sept. 14.

The festival late night shows, also announced on Wednesday, Aug. 6, include G. Love and Special Sauce, Friday, Sept 12, at the Stone Pony; the annual There Goes the Neighborhood with Jarod Clemons, Blaise and Echo Plum, also on Sept. 12, at the Wonder Bar; and the Ocean Avenue Stomp, which often features headliners from the festival, Sept. 13 at the Stone Pony.

Lenny Kravitz, Sublime, Public Enemy, LCD Soundsystem, Alabama Shakes, ZZ Top, De La Soul, UB40, TV On The Radio and more are playing the main fest.

Sea Hear Now is produced by C3 Presents, the team behind Lollapalooza, and locals Danny Clinch and Tim Donnelly. Clinch is a Toms River native who has photographed the greats of music, from Springsteen to Tupac Shakur.
