YAPA 20th Anniversary Party: 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 314 Second Ave. S.E. Past and present members and community members are invited to explore a wall of memories, contribute to a community art project, enjoy games, a scavenger hunt and raffle giveaways. Free.

Conde Municipal Building fundraiser: 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9. Enjoy a 3 p.m. poker run with registration beginning at 2:30 p.m.; food truck menu items all afternoon and evening; live music by Bob Styles starting at 6 p.m.; live auction at 8:30 p.m.; and The Barstool Prophets at 9 p.m. 

Quadman film screening and live music with Fed By Doris: 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, Red Rooster Coffee House, 218 S. Main St. Quadman is a locally produced science fiction film from 25 years ago. Free.

ACT’s Young People’s Theatre presents on the road tour of “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical!”: 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 at Bowdle Legion Hall; 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 at The Park on Broadway in Eden; 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10 at Park of the Pines in Langford; 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11 at Faulkton Legion Hall in Faulkton; 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12 at Union Square Park in Oakes, N.D.; 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13 at the Library Park Band Shell in Ipswich; 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14 at Anderson Park in Sisseton; and 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17 at the Brown County Fair.

Miss Rodeo Aberdeen: 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug.10, horsemanship events at Foot Creek Stables, 1320 135th St., with interviews, style show, oral presentations and coronation to follow at Agtegra Innovation Center, 39278 133rd St. at 12:30 p.m. Free.

Brown County Fair: Monday, Aug. 11 through Sunday, Aug. 17. A multitude of events happening daily at the Brown County Fairgrounds including evening events at the Larry Gerlach Grandstand that include the Dacotah Stampede Rodeo on Monday and Tuesday at 7 p.m.; Ian Munsick with Averay Anna on Wednesday at 8 p.m.; Tracy Lawrence with Ned LeDoux on Thursday at 8 p.m.; 38 Special with Uncle Kracker on Friday at 7:30 p.m.; Dustin Lynch with Redferrin on Saturday at 8 p.m. and the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show on Sunday at 2 p.m.

2025 South Dakota State Chili Cookoff: Saturday, Aug. 16, Centennial Village at the Brown County Fairgrounds. Noon-4 p.m. with public tasting at 2 p.m. and Run the Gamut hot sauce tasting at 3 p.m.

School Supply drive/fundraiser: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, Healthcare Plus Federal Credit Union, 203 S. Dakota St. Drop off school supplies to help local students, enjoy Lemon + Aid, face painting and balloon animals. Donations accepted through the end of August.

Lemonade fundraiser: 1-4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15 at Derian Place, 1801 Third Ave. S.E. Enjoy fresh squeezed lemonade and sweet tea and support the Alzeimer’s Association with a donation.

Praise in the Park: Noon-6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, Melgaard Park, 501 E. Melgaard Road, enjoy worship, preaching, food, games and prayer.

Aquatic Center going to the dogs: 5:30-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, Aquatic Center, 1029 S. Dakota St. Admission fee waived with a donation to the Aberdeen Area Humane Society.

Framed: Step into Art children’s exhibit: Dacotah Prairie Museum, available through Sept. 6, Dacotah Prairie Museum, 21 S. Main St. A traveling children’s exhibit from the Minnesota Children’s Museum featuring several famous artworks scaled up to life size sets for children to explore. Museum is open Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. -5 p.m. and Saturdays 11 a.m. -4 p.m.

Pub Quiz: 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, Hub City Station Event Center, 1923 Sixth Ave. S.E. With host Jon Boon. $5 cover. Held every second Thursday.

Aqua Addicts Water ski show: 7 p.m. Thursdays through Aug. 21. Dahme Lake, 3301 S. Highway 281, about two miles south of Aberdeen. Season tickets available for $50 or $7 for adults and $3 for students, 5 and younger free.

Aberdeen Moose Bingo: 6 p.m. Thursdays, Aberdeen Moose Lodge, 410 Ninth Ave. S.W. Doors open at 4 p.m., packets start at $23. No bingo on Aug. 14.

Malchow Plaza Farmers Market: 8:30 a.m.-noon: Saturdays through Sept. 27 at Malchow Plaza, 506 S. Main St., with weekly entertainment featuring Skyler Traxinger is Aug. 9 and Haven Bruns is Aug. 16.
