She’s done with summer vacation. Jill Schams, the La Crosse Education Association president, stopped into the WIZM studio for La Crosse Talk to discuss back to school.
La Crosse Talk airs weekdays at 6-8 a.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM / 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska). Find all the podcasts here or subscribe to La Crosse Talk wherever you get your podcasts.
We got into the School District of La Crosse changing its clocks and calendars — the year will start earlier on the calendar, while older and younger students will start at new times on the clocks.
We also did our recurring segment on teaching music, because Schams does just that at Southern Bluffs Elementary.
And, while she doesn’t worry about it much in her school, we got into A.I. a bit — something she needs to stay on top of as part of her union president duties.
Politics wise, Schams didn’t like the state budget and we ended the show discussing that in abbreviated fashion. She’ll be back on Monday, though, to dive into that more.
