Akron’s The Black Keys to release new album, ‘No Rain, No Flowers’ this week

Apparently, Akron’s The Black Keys are on a mission.

Fresh off a Aug. 6 appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” where they debuted a new single, “Man on a Mission,” the duo of Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach will release their newest album, “No Rain, No Flowers,” on Aug. 8.

“Man on a Mission” features their amped-up, grungy, bluesy sound with Carney’s thundering drum work and Auerbach’s ferocious vocals and the comes on the heels of a year of tumult for the Akron favorites.

The Black Keys canceled their North American Tour in 2024

After the release of “Ohio Players,” the band booked a North American tour that eventually was canceled. Ultimately, they had what appeared to be an acrimonious split with their former management team.

It appears they channeled that time into “No Rain, No Flowers” as it comes just over a year after the release of the well-received “Ohio Players.”

The Black Keys tour stopping in Cuyahoga Falls

The band is returning to music venues throughout the country as they have scheduled tour dates through the end of September with an Aug. 22 date set for Blossom Music Center.
