The upcoming “Unaccustomed Earth” series adaptation at Netflix has added three new series regulars, Variety has learned exclusively.
Indraneil Sengupta, Adi Roy, and Iyla Sundarsingh McKaig have all joined the adaptation of the Jhumpa Lahiri short story collection alongside previously announced star Freida Pinto. The official logline for the show states:

Sengupta, who will play Jai, is known for his roles in films such as “Kahaani,” “Mishawr Rawhoshyo,” and the Indian drama series “Nimki Mukhiya.”
Roy, who plays Kaushik, is known for starring in the Broadway productions “Aladdin” as well as “Jagged Little Pill.” His role in “Unaccustomed Earth” will mark his TV acting debut.
Sundarsingh McKaig, who plays Hema, recently appeared in the miniseries “Toxic Town” and has previously been in shows like “Jamie Johnson” and “Emmerdale Farm.”
Roy is repped by Buchwald and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Sundarsingh McKaig is repped by Articulate Agency.
“Unaccustomed Earth” has received an eight-episode order. Madhuri Shekar serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. John Wells executive produces via John Wells Productions (JWP). Ritesh Batra will direct and executive produce the first and second episodes. Nisha Ganatra, who had originally optioned the book and developed the series, will also executive produce. Lahiri will executive produce as well, along with Erica Saleh, Erin Jontow of JWP, and Celia Costas. Warner Bros. Television, where Wells is under an overall deal, will produce.
