Dave Bautista is reportedly in the final talks to star in the upcoming Highlander movie as the villain, starring opposite Henry Cavill. The actor will join Russell Crowe in the movie from Amazon MGM’s United Artists banner. Though still in its very early stages, there is ample excitement surrounding the project.

As per the latest reports, the Guardians of the Galaxy star is in final negotiations to play the infamous villain in the Highlander remake, which happens to be among the most exciting films coming up.
Henry Cavill, Marisa Abela, and Russell Crowe are already a part of the project. Now, with Dave Bautista joining the list, it will ensure that the film packs enough star power. The remake will be directed by Chad Stahelski, the acclaimed director behind the John Wick movies. This means that the new Highlander will also have some of the finest action set pieces in recent times.
Bautista is tipped to play the role of immortal barbarian, The Kurgen. Clancy Brown played this role in the original movie, and it remains one of the most iconic depictions of any villain on screen. Meanwhile, Cavill will play Connor MacLeod, a Medieval Scottish Highlander, a role originally played by Christopher Lambert. Moreover, Crowe will play the role of Ramirez, a swordsman originally played by Sean Connery.
