Kelly Clarkson decided to take some time off from her talk show while her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, was sick with cancer in February and March 2025. Blackstock died months later on Aug. 7.
That same day, Clarkson also postponed the remainder of her August Studio Sessions shows she had planned in Las Vegas, which begs the question of whether the “Since U Been Gone” superstar would continue performing as a singer or talk show host.

But now we know, the show is so movin’ on, yeah, yeah.
The Kelly Clarkson Show is set to return for its seventh season after premiering in 2019, TMZ reported.
Hopefully, the news doesn’t mark the first time fans of her show can breathe for the first time.
Clarkson does appear to be significantly impacted by the loss of Blackstock, though. He fought for more than three years against the melanoma that took his life.
“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment I need to be fully present with them,” Clarkson wrote on Instagram.
Clarkson And Blackstock’s Relationship
Clarkson and Blackstock were married from 2013 through 2022, though they had been separated by 2020.
They had two children together, River and Remington, whom they coparented.
Despite their difficult divorce, Clarkson was “looking after Brandon” during his battle with cancer, according to Page Six.
While Clarkson is famous for being in the public spotlight, she’s also worked very hard to ensure others in her life keep their privacy. For that reason, it’s hard to say exactly why she filed for divorce in 2020.
“So, I care one hundred percent more about my children than I do anything else on this planet,” she told Entertainment Tonight in October 2020, after the filing. “So, that’s been the hard thing of, like, yes, I’m willing to share my experience and yes, it is the worst. I mean, the past few months have been horribly sad. But at the same time, I have to think, ‘Hmmm, like, what I say has a domino effect in other people’s lives.'”
