PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A famous actor-turned-DJ duo paid a visit to a North Portland drive-thru earlier this month.
According to a video shared by 45 East on Aug. 2, Elijah Wood — best known for his portrayal of Frodo Baggins in “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy — stopped by Face Plant ahead of his sold-out appearance at the nightclub.

“It’s an incredible plant-based burger joint that opened in March,” Wood said of the Overlook neighborhood eatery. “If you haven’t been, check it out. It’s great.”
He and Zach Cowie, a fellow actor and music supervisor who appeared in the video showcasing Face Plant apparel, perform under the moniker Wooden Wisdom. Fittingly, the vinyl-spinning DJ duo visited the Hollywood neighborhood’s Little Axe Records as well.
It wasn’t until Monday that Face Plant reshared the video posted by 45 East.

Neutral Foods founder Matt Plitch opened the drive-thru on 3110 N Going St. earlier this year. He and Molly Baz, a chef and recipe developer known as Bon Appétit’s former food editor, previously told KOIN 6 they had been developing the menu since 2021.

Face Plant uses Impossible products for the base of its burgers, but Baz led the new business in developing signature flavors for its vegan takes on fast food classics. Her recent post on the years-in-the-making venture caught the attention of supermodel Bella Hadid, who simply commented, “Go Mollz!!!!!”
In addition to burgers, Face Plant also serves chicken nuggets, fries and milkshakes.
