Taylor Swift shocked the world this week, when she debuted the sultry images for her upcoming 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which see her posing in Cabaret-meets-Carnival stage costumes. The hot aesthetic is a diversion in Swift’s usual style, which leans more preppy or Southern belle.

During her recent appearance on the New Heights podcast, the record-breaking singer revealed that she wrote The Life of a Showgirl’s 12 tracks while in Europe on her Eras Tour.
She explained that the color of this new album and new era is orange because orange is energetic and bright, and that is how her life has felt over the past couple of years—thanks both to her tour and to her relationship with Travis Kelce.
“This is the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time,” she said.
“It’s a lot more upbeat,” Kelce noted. “Yeah. Life is more upbeat,” she said, smiling at him.
