It’s hard to do anything and not hear about Taylor Swift these days.
Evidently that also includes professional soccer.
Days after the music superstar’s appearance on the “New Heights” podcast with her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason attracted millions of views and literally broke the internet, Swift’s influence on sports popped up again on Friday.
It happened during a National Women’s Soccer League match between the Washington Spirit and Racing Louisville on Amazon Prime when announcer Mike Watts worked the name of every song from Swift’s new album, “The Life of a Showgirl” into his broadcast throughout the game.
Some of the tracks, like “Wish List,” Cancelled!” and “Eldest Daughter” were easy to fit in, but others like “Elizabeth Taylor” and “The Fate of Ophelia” proved to be more challenging.
Either way, the mission was accomplished with the first reference coming just nine minutes into the game and the last “The Life of a Showgirl,” coming in the 72nd minute.
You can see a compilation of the references in the video below.
“The Life of a Showgirl” will be Swift’s 12 album. Scheduled for release on Oct. 3, the 12-song album was written during the European leg of Swift’s Eras Tour in 2024.
Described as a vibrant and lively album about her life as an entertainer, Sabrina Carpenter is featured on the title track.
