STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Wagner College Theatre has been named the number one college theatre program in the country in The Princeton Review’s 2026 edition of “The Best 391 Colleges.”

This milestone marks a historic achievement for the program, which has consistently ranked among the top ten for over 30 years.

The recognition is also a tribute to the program’s unique combination of academic excellence and hands-on experience, where students not only perfect their craft but also prepare for real-world success in every area of the entertainment industry.

Not only does Wagner College Theatre train its performers and technicians; it cultivates well-rounded artists equipped to thrive in the professional world.

THE 2025-26 SEASON

Looking ahead, Wagner College Theatre’s 2025-26 season will focus on distinctly American stories as part of a year-long celebration leading up to the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Titled “Portraits of America: Lived, Seen, Heard,” the season will feature works that explore the diverse fabric of the United States, from its past to its present, from the coasts to the heartland.

The program is already preparing for its upcoming performances with excitement, as it continues its tradition of artistic innovation.

“The 250th anniversary of the nation offers a unique opportunity to tell the stories that have shaped America and will continue to define it,” Siemens added. “We are deeply grateful to The Princeton Review for acknowledging our collective accomplishments.”
