STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Wagner College Theatre has been named the number one college theatre program in the country in The Princeton Review’s 2026 edition of “The Best 391 Colleges.”
This milestone marks a historic achievement for the program, which has consistently ranked among the top ten for over 30 years.
The recognition is also a tribute to the program’s unique combination of academic excellence and hands-on experience, where students not only perfect their craft but also prepare for real-world success in every area of the entertainment industry.

THE 2025-26 SEASON
Looking ahead, Wagner College Theatre’s 2025-26 season will focus on distinctly American stories as part of a year-long celebration leading up to the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Titled “Portraits of America: Lived, Seen, Heard,” the season will feature works that explore the diverse fabric of the United States, from its past to its present, from the coasts to the heartland.
The program is already preparing for its upcoming performances with excitement, as it continues its tradition of artistic innovation.
