“Who want to meet the new HOH?!”
More from Gold Derby
With those seven words, Week 6 of Big Brother officially began, and Rachel Reilly was in charge for the first time this season. Fun fact: this marks her seventh career Head of Household victory after winning twice in Season 12 and four times in Season 13, her winning season.
The BB Queen immediately went after the three people who had been not-so-secretly targeting her for weeks: Vince Panaro, Morgan Pope, and Mickey Lee. This is Vince’s second consecutive week on the block, and the first time in danger for the two girls. Also, Rachel has a renom option in mind, Kelley Jorgensen, in case one of her nominees winds up being saved by the Power of Veto.
“Vince, if you’re the gardener in this house, Morgan is planting seeds,” Rachel declared at the nominations ceremony. “To be completely honest, the two of you have been trying to run this game since the beginning. And Mickey, you’re right along with them. I love you all personally, but in this game, I can’t allow you to control it.”
This week’s Veto challenge saw the return of OTEV, the fan-favorite host of a musical chairs-style competition. (His name spells “Veto” backwards — get it?) OTEV asked the contestants questions about former houseguests and events, and they had to run through the backyard to try to find the answers. The fun and games only lasted three rounds, as several people submitted the wrong answers to OTEV. Embarrassing!
Rachel, Vince, Morgan, Mickey, Lauren Domingue, and Will Williams were the six players who competed for OTEV’s Veto, and the winner was …. Lauren! This marks Lauren’s first Power of Veto win of the summer; she previously won Head of Household in Week 3.
Following her victory, Lauren was seen on the live feeds debating about whether to use the power at the upcoming Veto ceremony. She announced that she wouldn’t be saving either Morgan or Mickey, so if she does end up using it, it would be to save Vince, since they have a secret final two deal.
If Vince comes off the block, Rachel will likely announce Kelley as her renom. Rachel tried to get closer to Kelley this week, but that backfired when she found out Kelley had betrayed her confidence the week prior by spilling important tea to Mickey. That made Rachel unsure of whether she could trust Kelley going forward.
See how the OTEV competition plays out on Wednesday night. Then on Thursday, the three nominees have one last chance of saving themselves in the Block Buster comp, prior to the live vote and eviction.
