Valerie Bertinelli is reaching for new fitness goals after finding a photo of herself posing in a stance that ‘hurts [her] knees’ to see.
“My goal is to be able to crouch down comfortably again just like this,” Valerie, 65, captioned the Friday, August 22, Instagram post. “I think I’ve done enough squats in my lifetime that I should be able to work myself back to this (without actually holding onto something to help me down and back up) Time to hit the gym!”
The Hot In Cleveland actress paired her message with a professional photo of herself in 2007. In the picture, Valerie knelt down in a deep squat-like position as she donned a monochromatic beige outfit.
Fans rallied in support of Valerie’s new health and fitness goal in the comments section of the post, with some sending positive messages of encouragement.
“You can do it!” one person wrote. “Never stop getting down on the ground. We get down but we get back up again. And we keep on moving, no matter what!”
“Yes! I think we all want to work on improving that!” a second fan commented. “Very inspiring post. Plus girl! That outfit on you is fire!”
Valerie has used her celebrity platform to display body positivity over the years, including her recent weight loss journey. In December 2024, the former Kids Baking Championship host stripped down to her bra and underwear as she celebrated “every lump, bump, wrinkle and saggy part” of her body.
“At some point I will talk about the madness my body has been through this year,” Valerie captioned the post. “But right now every lump, bump, wrinkle and saggy part of me just feels acceptance and simple appreciation to be standing in front of a mirror in a hotel bathroom in downtown Manhattan ready to color my roots late on a Monday night.”
