Michael Jackson’s son Prince has announced he is engaged to his longtime girlfriend Molly after dating for eight years.
The 28-year-old actor and producer shared the happy news on social media on Tuesday.
Posting a carousel of images set to his late father‘s 1987 single I Just Can’t Stop Loving You, Prince said he and his partner “have spent a lot of time together and made incredible memories” and are now looking forward to the next chapter in their lives.
Prince shared a photo of him and Molly kissing as she placed her hand on his chest to display her engagement ring.
The Instagram post also included images of the couple out and about, including during a hike, on a bike ride and at their graduation, as well as a photo of himself and his bride-to-be with his grandmother Katherine Jackson at Hayvenhurst, the family compound in Encino, California.
Prince’s famous family shared their joy at the news as Taryll Jackson – son of Michael’s brother Tito – wrote, “Congrats!!!”
He had previously made a rare comment about his love life when he first started dating Molly.
“I think in everything there’s an important balance. I think that I’m a certain way, and she’s very – I don’t want to say opposite – but complementary in a way that we balance each other out. I’m more aggressive, she’s a little softer,” he told People.
Prince explained the relationship “helps us stay well-rounded” in that she urged him to “see things through a different light.” His engagement comes just weeks after sister Paris Jackson decided to call off her own.
Michael’s daughter revealed she had got engaged to music producer Justin Long in December after a romantic trip to Paris.
“Doing life with you these last years has been an indescribable whirlwind and I couldn’t dream of anyone more perfect for me to do it all with,” she wrote at the time.
However, last month Paris confirmed the relationship was over. She addressed speculation all was not well in her personal life after being snapped looking emotional.
Paris wrote, “those are breakup tears. y’all are fkn reaching again.” Pop star Michael welcomed Paris, 27, and Prince with his second wife Debbie Rowe.
The late singer also had a son via surrogacy called Bigi, 23, who was formerly known as Blanket. Michael died at the age of 50 in 2009 from a cardiac arrest.
