Nancy Cheris of the York Quilters Guild talks on Aug. 26. 2025 about the quilt the group made to commemorate the county’s 275th anniversary.

CapFilm: “The Grateful Dead Movie.” Grateful Dead celebrate their 60th Anniversary with a highly anticipated return to big screens for the annual theatrical event Meet-Up At The Movies. For a limited time only, this special cinematic event allows fans to come together and celebrate the enduring legacy of the Grateful Dead. This year, Rhino Entertainment and Trafalgar Releasing present the Dead’s eponymous film “The Grateful Dead Movie.” This fan-favorite cult classic follows the legendary band on what at the time was believed to be their final performances, a five-night run at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom in October of 1974, the final night billed as “The Last One.” Featuring stellar live performances, mind-bending animation, interviews with band members and crew, the film has a rare focus on the band’s fans and their deep commitment to the Dead Head lifestyle. Be sure to stay till the end for the exclusive theatrical premier of “China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider,” a bonus live performance from the October ‘74 Winterland shows not included in the official film release. 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Capitol Theatre at the Appell Center, 50 N. George St., York. All tickets $15.

Airstream Rally. The epic event where Airstream owners rally together to celebrate a shared passion for adventure, exploration and the iconic Airstream lifestyle. Embrace the timeless traditions of adventure and friendship while exploring and enjoying the sites and sounds of the Mid-Atlantic at the 2025 ACI Rally, the 68th event. The last day of the event is Thursday, at the York Expo Center, 334 Carlisle Ave., York. Visit airstreamclub.org/rally2025 for more information.

High Times. This seasoned Central Pa. jam band channels the spirit of Jerry Garcia with long, flowing improvisations, rich harmonies, and a laid-back psychedelic vibe. From Dead classics to Allman Brothers grooves, High Times delivers a live experience that’s all about good tunes, good vibes, and getting lost in the music. 7 p.m. Friday, at Gift Horse Brewing Company, 117 N.
