Foundation season 3, like the previous two, is filled with surprises and big developments, and the eighth episode, which premiered on August 29, 2025, had a major twist about Brother Day, who is held at the Mycogen district of Trantor.

Does Day die in Foundation Season 3 Episode 8?
In the eighth episode of Foundation, the Mycogen district of Trantor holds Brother Day. Authorities take him to his public trial, hosted by Sunmaster, where they put him in chains. The members of the Faith sit around to judge him for his crimes. Sunmaster assigns Oceanglass to wear Red, indicating that Oceanglass would be the executioner should Day be found guilty.
Sunmaster introduces Day to the Inheritance and follows it up with a theatrical bit about the crimes Day had committed against the robots. This is the story that Demerzel had narrated with some additions. The bit adds that the robot savior that Inheritance is waiting for is named Daneel.
Day remembers that Daneel is the name Demerzel used previously. He tries, but is unable to get his voice to the Inheritance. Day tries to tell them about Demerzel being Daneel, but it seems that Sunmaster purposely blocks this.
When the Brazen Head starts to emit a certain sound frequency, it triggers memories and hallucinations in Day. As he witnesses visions of Demerzel, Sunmaster, and Oceanglass start talking about how he would be killed.
Day tries to get his point across to the Inheritance, trying to say that if they kill Day, Demerzel will come and slaughter them all. But sparing him may be able to convince Demerzel to turn. Day also said he was willing to atone for all the sinful things the Cleonic Dynasty had done.
Sunmaster purposefully misinterprets the signal to maintain his power over the group. He then sends Day to a pit, where the latter will be mulched to death.
So, no, Day is not dead in Foundation Season 3 Episode 8, but he will be if help does not arrive soon. The upcoming episode of Foundation will be key in deciphering Day’s future.
