(WJW) — Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay revealed Saturday he’d been diagnosed with skin cancer, and had already had it removed from his face.

The 58-year-old shared the news in an Instagram post, writing, “Grateful and so appreciative for the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their fast reactive work on removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma, thank you! Please don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend.”
The television personality, known for hosting popular reality cooking shows like “Hell’s Kitchen” and “MasterChef,” also shared pictures showing a large bandage on the side of his face and a close-up shot of stitches near his left ear.
“I promise you it’s not a facelift! I’d need a refund,” he quipped.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, Basal cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer that causes a lump, bump or lesion to form on the outside layer of the skin on areas that typically get a lot of sun exposure.

Ramsay’s post had already garnered more than 300,000 likes and countless comments by Saturday afternoon, with many wishing the restaurateur well.
He recently made a stop in Cleveland when he visited Fahrenheit in June and sampled several dishes, including sashimi, sushi, chop salads, pork chops, shortribs, schnitzel and bananas foster.
