Seth Rogen was out and about in Italy during the Venice Film Festival, snapping pictures and setting off speculation that he was on a research trip for the upcoming Season 2 of The Studio. (Nice work if you can get it.)
The man himself reportedly confirmed as much to the Italian news site adnkronos, explaining that he was attending the festival to scout for locations.

And Rogen suggested that festivals could be a potential target for satire in the continuing adventures of Continental Studios in his recent conversation with Gold Derby. “We’ve been talking a lot about it, honestly — film festivals, the standing ovations,” he said. “We have a lot to crack.”
So are Matt Remnick and crew headed to the Lido for some water-logged hijinks in their second season?
That’s likely the case, but since there’s plenty we already know for sure about The Studio Season 2, read on to learn everything you need to know about the highly anticipated sequel to the Emmy-nominated season.
When was The Studio renewed?
After launching in late March, the comedy got a quick renewal order from Apple TV+, which rolled out an announcement video in May.
“We’re thrilled to be making a second season of The Studio,” Rogen and Goldberg said in a statement. “We’re looking forward to taking the lived experience of making season one and immediately putting it into Season 2, then repeating that loop for 10 more seasons. And, we’re excited to keep all our industry friends and colleagues guessing as to when one of their personal stories will stream on Apple TV+.”
“We can’t wait to see where Matt Remick takes Continental Studios in Season 2, and hope for his sake that the Kool-Aid movie crushes at the box office,” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+.
When is The Studio Season 2 filming?
In August, cocreator Evan Goldberg told Deadline that the writing team was in the middle of scripting the next season with hopes to begin shooting in mid-January.
Are there any guest stars already lined up?
In theory, yes. In that same interview with Deadline, the cocreators mentioned that two of the episode concepts for the second season were dependent on specific star availability, with Goldberg saying that one in particular could “explode.”
When speaking with Gold Derby, Emmy nominee Dave Franco said that he would return for Season 2 no matter what. “I want to come back for 10 seasons,” he said. “I hope they make this forever and they know I’m there whenever they need me. I don’t need to read the script. Just tell me where to be.”
Similarly, Zoë Kravitz suggested there would be some problems if she didn’t get the call to return. “I’m gonna riot if they don’t bring me back!” she told Gold Derby.
When will Season 2 of The Studio debut?
Season 1 of The Studio started filming about a year before it debuted on Apple TV+, so if they stick to the mid-January start date and have a similar production timeline, expect new episodes sometime in early 2026.
