‘Just a Bit Outside,’ on 1982 Milwaukee Brewers, will be on free TV; here’s where and when

As you watch the Milwaukee Brewers continue their march to the 2025 postseason, you also can get another look at the only Brewers team to make it to the World Series (so far) on over-the-air television.

WMLW, the Milwaukee TV station known as The M, will air “Just a Bit Outside: The Story of the 1982 Milwaukee Brewers” at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 10 and again at 11 p.m. on Sept. 24.

The documentary, which was a hit when it played in Wisconsin theaters last fall, is a love letter to the team by two Wisconsin natives: producer-director Sean Hanish and producer (and former president of CBS Entertainment) Kelly Kahl. In part, the movie focuses on the connection between the veteran, working-class-style Brewers lineup and the city of Milwaukee, which in the early 1980s was reeling from the recession.

The movie features interviews with players from the 1982 Brewers — including Hall of Famers Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, Ted Simmons and Rollie Fingers — along with behind-the-scenes figures, including late Hall of Fame announcer Bob Uecker.

WMLW can be seen over the air on Channels 49.1 and 58.3, and on Spectrum cable at Channels 7 and 1007.
