Ryan Reynolds was not accompanied by his wife, Blake Lively, at the Toronto International Film Festival.
On Thursday, September 4, the Deadpool & Wolverine star, 48, attended the premiere of the documentary John Candy: I Like Me. Reynolds posed for photos on the red carpet by himself as well as with his mom, Tammy Reynolds, and with the documentary’s director, Colin Hanks.
The Proposal actor wore glasses, a corduroy brown blazer with matching pants, and a white t-shirt featuring a maple leaf.

Reynolds’ appearance comes amid the continuous legal drama Lively faces with her It Ends With Us costar Justin Baldoni.
As Star previously reported, the legal battle began in December 2024, when the Gossip Girl alum, 38, filed a lawsuit alleging that the Jane the Virgin star, 41, sexually harassed her on the set of the film. Baldoni filed his own $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively in January 2025. However, it was dismissed by a judge on June 9.

Later that month, Reynolds seemingly joked about dealing with lawyers at the Cannes Lions International Festival.
According to Page Six, when he was giving an audience member a bottle of water, he said, “I’m not throwing this. I’ve been around lawyers. You can walk up here and grab it.”
