The Prince and Princess of Wales both wore black on their first public appearances since the announcement of the death of the Duchess of Kent.
The Royal Family is now in mourning for the Duchess who died on September 4 at the age of 92.

William wore a black suit and black tie as he attended the Women’s World Cup Rugby match between Wales and Fiji at Exeter.
Kate chose a black trouser suit for her trip to see England’s women play Australia in Brighton.
Black is traditionally worn during official periods of royal mourning.
Following the announcement of the death of the Duchess of Kent, the flag at Buckingham Palace was lowered to half mast. The official communication was posted in a frame on the gates of the Palace.
The Duchess of Edinburgh was the first member of the Royal Family to be seen publicly and wore black as she continued engagements in Canada where she has been visiting community initiatives.
King Charles also wore a black jacket when he made his first official appearance following the news. He also wore a black tie as he attended the Braemar Gathering in Scotland with Queen Camilla who was in tartan with a black armband.
The Prince and Princess of Wales both showed their support for the Women’s World Cup by attending crucial matches.
Kate is the patron of the Red Roses, who are among the favourites to win the tournament which is being played a rugby grounds across the country.
She was in Brighton as the team secured a 47-7 victory over Australia in the group stages of the competition. The Red Roses are on an impressive run of form – the win is their 30th on the trot and sends them through to the quarter finals.

They were clearly glad of their patrons support as their photos of Kate took over their Instagram feed as the celebrations continued.
The Princess of Wales sent a celebratory message on social media, saying ”a great result against Australia and on to the Quarter Finals”.
She also joined them in the dressing room afterwards to chat about their win and for a group photo.
Prince William, however, had to bring the commiserations with him as he caught up with the Welsh team after they lost 28-25 to Fiji. The loss in the qualifying round ended their hopes of progressing any further in the competition.
The Prince of Wales wrote ”..you fought hard to make the nation proud”.
Prince William is the patron of the Welsh Rugby Union.
