It is officially fall this week, and shoulder season events with music are taking place at various local beaches. But the biggest and boldest of them this weekend will take place Friday through Sunday, Sept. 26-28, as the Ocean City Inlet hosts the third annual Oceans Calling festival.
Oceans Calling is loaded with big names all around
The star power will be out in force again this year with sets by more than three-dozen national rock ’n’ roll, pop and R&B acts. The fest sold out months ago, and an estimated 55,000 music fans from throughout the country are set to attend each day, with many keeping a close eye on local weather forecasts.
Rock superstar Lenny Kravitz will play on the first day of this weekend’s Oceans Calling festival at the Ocean City Inlet at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26.
The Friday, Sept. 26 kickoff will include Lenny Kravitz, Nelly, the Black Crowes and headliner Green Day (which will close things out at 9:15 p.m.). This is one of Green Day’s last few shows of its multi-year stadium tour which has celebrated the anniversaries of both its “American Idiot” and “Dookie” albums.
The Oceans Calling lineup Saturday, Sept. 27 will feature Good Charlotte, En Vogue, Vampire Weekend, Noah Kahan and more. The festival will close things out Sunday, Sept. 28 with acts including Ziggy Marley, DEVO, Train, Weezer and Fall Out Boy.
