Yungblud made quite the entrance at the MTV VMAs red carpet. The 28-year-old musician arrived at New York‘s UBS Arena on Sept. 7, sporting a black leather fur coat and matching leather pants and his signature slicked-back black hair.
Striking poses for the cameras, Yungblud, also known as Dominic Richard Harrison, playfully growled at photographers and flashed his claws. Moments later, he shed his coat to reveal his toned chest to the crowd.
The singer is attending this year’s ceremony, which will be aired on CBS/MTV/Paramount+ and hosted by rapper-actor LL Cool J. The ceremony will honor Ozzy Osbourne, whom he considered a mentor.
The tribute will also feature Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, and Nuno Bettencourt, honoring the Prince of Darkness.
Yungblud shared a close relationship with the iconic Black Sabbath frontman and his famous family.
“Your cross around my neck is the most precious thing I own. You asked me once if there was anything you could do for me, and as I said then and as I will say now, for all of us, the music was enough.
“You took us on your adventure – an adventure that started it all. I am truly heartbroken. You were the greatest of all time.”
Two days later, Yungblud revealed he was struggling with coming to terms with Ozzy’s passing. The I Think I’m Okay performer shared, “I’m trying to compute the last couple days and honestly I’m absolutely f—— shattered.
“You have been my North Star for everything for as long as I can remember from when I was misunderstood as a child to the way people thought I was just a little ‘too much’ or ‘strange’ in my life and career.
“I owe so much to you, your wife and your family – you all gave me a road to run down and supported me when people would turn their nose up.”
