The Witcher Season 4 is slated for a release in 2025 with Liam Hemsworth portraying the lead role.
Peter Mullan to play the new Vesemir in The Witcher Season 4
Peter Mullan is set to take on the role of Vesemir in The Witcher Season 4, following the recent recasting of Kim Bodnia. According to Redanian Intelligence, Bodnia left the role last year due to scheduling conflicts, as he was working on the Brad Pitt movie, F1.
In October 2024, the representatives of Bodnia told Radio Times, “Kim will not return as Vesemir as his current shooting diary didn’t fit in with Netflix’s shooting schedule of The Witcher season 4.”
This is yet another high-profile casting in the Netflix series after the exit of Henry Cavill. Cavill last appeared as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher Season 3, which dropped in 2023. The Superman actor made the announcement regarding his departure in an Instagram post in 2022.
He wrote that his journey as Geralt of Rivia has come to an end. He stated that his time as the character was “filled with both monsters and adventures.” However, he was laying down his swords for Season 4.
Cavill mentioned that with his exit, Liam Hemsworth “will be taking up the mantle of” Geralt of Rivia, aka the White Wolf. He conveyed that he is passing “the torch” to Hemsworth to see his “take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men.”
He further addressed Hemsworth and stated that Geralt “has such a wonderful depth to him.” Thus, Hemsworth should “enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find.”
