For months, Star Wars fans have speculated whether Pedro Pascal would return in The Mandalorian & Grogu, the first feature-length continuation of the hit Disney+ series.

Now, the answer has finally surfaced—straight from one of the film’s biggest stars.

At the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Collider’s Steve Weintraub sat down with Sigourney Weaver to discuss her upcoming project, Dust Bunny.

The conversation unexpectedly shifted toward her latest galaxy-spanning role. Weaver, known worldwide for her iconic sci-fi performances in Alien and Avatar, is officially part of The Mandalorian & Grogu, which hits theaters on May 22, 2026. When asked about how the new film stacks up against other Star Wars entries, she didn’t hold back.

“It won’t be as good as The Mandalorian [and Grogu], just letting you know,” Weaver said with a laugh, pointing out that each corner of the franchise occupies its own lane. While Andor explored political corruption and authoritarian rule, she made clear that Jon Favreau’s new movie is “a different world.”

Weintraub noted that the show Andor is “dealing with deadly serious stuff” while The Mandalorian & Grogu is “a fun time at the movies.”

But Weaver didn’t completely agree with his assertion, closing the thought with a tease that sent Star Wars fans into overdrive: “Well, let’s see, shall we? I’m sure it will be at least that. And it will have Pedro Pascal.”

That confirmation ends months of uncertainty. Rumors swirled that Pascal, who voices Din Djarin and sometimes appears under the armor, might not be directly involved due to scheduling conflicts. Weaver’s casual reveal now confirms that the actor will indeed be part of the 2026 theatrical release.

Set after the events of the first three seasons of The Mandalorian, the movie promises to bring Din Djarin and Grogu to the big screen for the first time. While Lucasfilm has kept the story under wraps, it’s expected to tie into the larger narrative threads laid down across Disney+ series.
