The restored space will transform its waterfront setting into a two-stage hub for free music, spoken word and creative performances on Friday, September 19.

Entry to all events is free, non-ticketed, and operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

Some of the family-friendly events kick off from 2.30pm and include a professional magician, a kid-friendly tie-dye t-shirt workshop, face painting and an interactive workshop with renowned Irish graphic designer Magnus Mudrack.

As the evening begins, the landmark site will transform into a fully licensed over-18s event and will have a promising line-up with Nialler9 set to perform.

He will deliver a high-energy DJ set filled with disco, indie and more.

London-based electronic music producer POSER will also be there, and will be joined by Kynsy (aka Ciara Lydnsey), who is a rising star having played at Electric Picnic and other festivals.

The history of the space will also be honoured, as The Factory at Bolands Mills has hosted legendary names including U2 and David Bowie in the past.

For Culture Night, curating the spoken word stage in The Factory is the acclaimed Dublin-based poet and fashion stylist, Jan Brierton.

Her work explores themes of menopause, midlife, relationships, and self-acceptance. Joining Jan are a host of talented artists, including comedian and actress Alison Spittle, emerging poet Olivia O’Toole, who has family roots in Ringsend, and David Hynes, co-founder of The Poetry Kiln.

Being a part of the Docklands skyline for over 150 years, Bolands Mills have always been a fundamental part of the social and economic life of the area.

During the Easter Rising in 1916, the buildings were famously occupied by rebel forces, cementing their place in history.

The journey to restore the 150-year-old site is now complete, with over 50,000 square feet of newly landscaped outdoor areas and 30,000 square feet of retail and community space.

This event is part of Culture Night’s 20th-anniversary celebration, One Night for All, coordinated by the Arts Council in partnership with local authorities. For full details visit www.culturenight.ie
