As comedian Nate Bargatze took the stage to host the 2025 Emmy Awards, viewers couldn’t help but notice that he butchered the name of one famous country artist during the ceremony.
At the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, Nate introduced the presenters for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series but accidentally misprounounced the name of one of the famed artists.
At the famous award show, which amped up security measures this year, Nate said, “40 years ago tonight the Golden Girls premiered tonight on NBC. It was an instant classic, it was a little edgier than people might remember, growing up i was not allowed to watch the blanche parts.
He continued, “Here to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the show and to present the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, please welcome Reba McEntire and Little Big Town’s Carrie Fairchild – Fair, Fairchild KAREN Fairchild.”
While Nate was quickly able to correct his mistake, the blunder was not lost on viewers back home as many noticed that he was noticeably nervous during the award ceremony.
Karen is the lead singer of the famed country music group Little Big Town, known for hit songs Girl Crush, Boondocks, Hell Yeah, Day Drinking, Little White Church, among others.
During the award show, Karen participated in a performance of the Golden Girl’s theme song alongside Reba McEntire and Kimberly Schlapman. The trio sang the song in celebration of the 40th-anniversary celebration of the famous show.
Fans were buzzing with excitement over the beautiful tribute as one fan posted, “REBA, KAREN FAIRCHILD, & KIMBERLY SCHLAPMAN HONORING GOLDEN GIRLS AT THE EMMYS?!!! I AM UNWELL.”
Another added, “A Golden Girls tribute on the #Emmys! One of the best shows ever.”
Karen also presented the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series announcing Hollywood star Hannah Einbinder as the winner. Hannah was nominated in the category following her iconic role as Ava Daniels in the hit series Hacks.
