Leonardo DiCaprio has officially entered the chat!
The actor and ’90s heartthrob, 50, revealed he’s officially supporting team Conrad ahead of The Summer I Turned Prettyfinale airing on Sept. 17.
For three seasons, the Prime Video series, which focuses on the dramatic love triangle between Isabel “Belly” Conklin (Lola Tung) and brothers Conrad (Chris Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) Fisher, has divided fans over which brother Belly should finally choose at the end of the series.
In a video shared on Instagram by Warner Brothers Studio on Sept. 16, DiCaprio’s One Battle After Another costar Chase Infiniti addressed showrunner and author Jenny Han and revealed she and DiCaprio “can’t wait to tune into the series finale of The Summer I Turned Pretty.”
“I have to say I am team Conrad,” Infiniti confirmed before she turned the camera to DiCaprio and revealed “and so is he.”
Fans were quick to flood the comments on the video, with one fan writing “Leo being Team Conrad was not in my bingo card this year but im sooooo here for it.” Another fan expressed their shock that “THE Leo himself” weighed in on the ongoing debate between Conrad and Jeremiah.
The Summer I Turned Pretty’s official Instagram account also commented “From one yearning king to another 🤝” in response to DiCaprio’s response as well.
The Comparisons Between Leonardo DiCaprio and Chris Briney
The latest update comes after fans have compared Briney, 27, to the Academy award-winning actor ever since The Summer I Turned Pretty’s season 3 premiere. One fan on X (formerly known as Twitter) even wrote that Briney is “is so Leonardo DiCaprio in the 90s coded” and included a side-by-side photo of the actors.
Prime Video even weighed in on the comparisons and shared a side by side video of DiCaprio’s performance as Jack Dawson in Titanic and a clip of Conrad from the show’s third season with the caption “Knew that look from somewhere.”
Fans were obsessed with the confirmation from the streaming giant, with one fan writing that “this [comparison] is very important to me” and other added that “[Briney] does look a lot like young Leo.”
Another fan confirmed that “Jenny [Han] knows what she’s doing.”
The Summer I Turned Pretty’s finale episode will air on Prime Video on Sept. 17, with the rest of season 3 already available to stream.
