Nina Dobrev and Shaun White may not have been on the same page about their future.
On Tuesday, September 16, a source told People the Vampire Diaries alum, 36, “is devastated” over the breakup.
“There was one reason: She wanted a family and wanted to get married — and he didn’t,” the source claimed.
The insider noted the actress was not in the country right now and was being “supported by family.”
However, a separate source claimed that the professional snowboarder, 39, “wanted marriage and kids” and that “it wasn’t just one-sided.”
As Star previously reported, Dobrev and the three-time Olympic gold medalist split last week, with a source telling People at the time that things ended amicably.
“It was a mutual decision, and wasn’t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another,” the insider shared.
In October 2024, White proposed to Dobrev in New York City after about five years together, but in March, the former CW star admitted they had not started wedding planning.
“I was in Australia shooting a movie and then Christmas and New Year’s,” Dobrev explained to E! at the time. “We’re just enjoying being engaged at this point and being in that sort of phase because a lot of your life is — you have a boyfriend for half of your life and then you have a husband for half of your life but the fiancé period is very short.”
