Talking to People, Priscilla, 80, confessed that Lisa Marie’s ex-husband, Danny Keough, had told her what was happening to Lisa Marie.
She said, “We were there all day long. Lisa really wasn’t breathing, so she was on the ventilator. For hours we were there waiting, hoping and praying until the doctor came in and said, ‘Priscilla, I’m so sorry, she’s gone.'”
Priscilla admitted she continues to struggle with the loss of Lisa Marie, adding, “We just couldn’t believe it — didn’t want to believe it. It was hard on all of us, it still is.”
Priscilla is no stranger to tragedy after the untimely death of Elvis, who she was married to from 1967 to 1973. The iconic singer died in 1977 at the age of 42 after being found unresponsive at his famous Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee.

A preliminary autopsy found that Elvis had died as the result of a “cardiac arrhythmia,” with the toxicology report stating that Elvis had extremely high levels of the opiates Dilaudid, Percodan, Demerol, and codeine in his blood when he died, as well as Quaaludes.
Priscilla admitted that losing Lisa Marie was on a par with the heartbreaking loss of Elvis. She explained, “It was the second saddest day of my life, other than losing Elvis. It took a long time to come to terms with the fact that Lisa was gone.”
Priscilla also faced tragedy when her grandson – Lisa Marie’s son -Benjamin Keough, died by suicide in 2020 at the age of 27.
Priscilla’s so,n Navarone Garibaldi, whom she shares with ex Marco Garibaldi, has also previously struggled with drug addiction.
She shared, “It hasn’t been easy at all. But you have to find strength.”
