Disney has unveiled the first trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu, the franchise’s return to theaters since The Rise of Skywalker in 2019. The film, directed by Jon Favreau and written by Favreau and Dave Filoni, features Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin alongside Grogu in a lighthearted, action-focused adventure. Sigourney Weaver appears as a Rebel Alliance colonel, with Jeremy Allen White cast as Rotta the Hutt and Jonny Coyne as an Imperial warlord.

Not all fans are pleased with the recently released footage of The Mandalorian and Grogu.
One top YouTube comment read, “Disney Execs: ‘Everyone stop talking about Jimmy Kimmel! Look at the shiny new Star Wars movie!’” while another posted, “Thanks for leaving the comments section open. It’s much more entertaining that this trailer.” Other reactions included, “If only Disney could be as brave as their characters,” and “I don’t have Disney+ anymore. This is the way.”
Concerns over scale and tone also surfaced. Industry insider Daniel Richtman wrote, “This trailer makes the movie feel more like a filler episode of the TV show. Even visually it doesn’t look like an upgrade.” MyTimeToShineHello echoed, “Awful trailer by the way, I’m honestly shocked. It looks like one long episode of the TV show, and not a good one.”

Some fans remained optimistic.
