Rock star Jon Bon Jovi recently spoke up in support of his son’s marriage to “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown, despite the two being in their early 20s.
Bon Jovi’s son, Jake Bongiovi, married Brown in May of 2024. At the time, the singer’s son was 22 and Brown was 20.
On a recent appearance on Bunnie XO’s podcast “Dumb Blonde,” Bon Jovi said that “we blessed it because we get it, you know?”
“They’re sorta mature beyond their years,” Bon Jovi said. “She comes from a family where her parents are still together and they married very young.”
The “Livin’ on a Prayer” singer added that “her and Jake fell in love and we just thought, ‘OK, we’ll support this.’ And it’s working out.”
Bongiovi and Brown have also added to the family by adopting a baby girl earlier this year.
Fox News reports that Bon Jovi married his high school sweetheart Dorothea Hurley in 1989, when he was 27.
And now, Bon Jovi said, he is excited to be a grandfather.
“It’s crazy, but great,” he said on the podcast. “Wonderful. They adopted a girl, we met the baby obviously and immediately that becomes your grandchild, you know what I mean? Your baby.”
He added that he asks the couple for frequent updates and photos of his granddaughter.
“I want to see pictures, like, every other day,” Bon Jovi said. “I’m that pain in the butt guy already and, yeah, it’s cool.”
