Keep your eyes out for Caleb Hayes.
The 10-year-old drumming phenom is earning praise from some legendary rockers after posting a clip on his official Instagram track of him rocking his drum kit to the new Aerosmith-Yungblud collaborative single “My Only Angel.”
The video of the young basher, who sports a mohawk underneath his headphones, was posted on Sept. 26. Aerosmith, Yungblud, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry were all tagged and some of them are taking notice.
“Good job Caleb! 🥁,” reads a comment from Perry’s official Instagram account, while the Aerosmith account added, “This is awesome Caleb!!”
Former Guns N’ Roses member Matt Sorum, who played in the track, stepping in for Aerosmith’s longtime drummerJoey Kramer, also weighed in with some compliments and some tips.
“Killer Caleb , sounds awesome , Go to the crash second half of the guitar solo and a little tighter on the hats on 8th notes in the verse . You play it with power and confidence 👏👏👏.”
“@mattsorum Thank you so much 🙏🤘🙌,” Caleb responded.
“@mattsorum dude, that’s so cool of you to comment and give Caleb some pointers 🖤🤘,” added one fan.
Caleb, who appears to already have sponsorship deals with musical instrument companies Roland, Paiste cymbals and SJC Custom Drums, also grabbed the attention of the Capitol Music Group, which released the Aerosmith-Yungblud track. “The is KILLER!” the label’s official account posted.
Aerosmith released their single with the popular young British singer on Sept. 19 and announced that it’s part of a collaborative EP titled One More Time, which drops on Nov. 21.
A quick look around at the other posts on Caleb’s Instagram account reveals that he’s also garnered the attention and rubbed shoulders with other rock royalty.
Back in November 2022, he hung out with Evanescence and played Will Hunt’s drums during a soundcheck when he was a mere 8 years old.
There’s also a pic from 2020 of Caleb hanging out with ghoul-rockers Slipknot in 2020 in which he joins the group for a photo wearing his own mask.
